The wow pvp system awards time and not skill, so if you don’t have 12 hours a day for PVP’ing, going for exalted with one of the factions in the battlegrounds, will most likely get you better results gear-wise. The advantage of going for exalted with the BG factions is that your reputation gains aren’t reliant on others, as it is with the PVP system, so you can gain rep when you want and it doesn’t decay.

There are 3 battlegrounds; Alterac Valley (AV), Arathi Basin (AB) and Warsong Gulch (WG).

Arathi Basin
AB is (up to) 15 vs. 15 and is all about capping nodes and gathering resources from said nodes. There are 5 nodes on the map and the first side to 2000 points wins. The game is bracketed in the usual brackets from lvl 20 and up: (20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60). horde gain reputation with "The Forsaken Defilers" and alliance with "The League of Arathor".

Reputation is rewarded as follows (from wowwiki.com):

Quote: Quests, Reputation, and Other Rewards
Near each entrance is an NPC who gives quests related to Arathi Basin. One quest can be completed simply by participating in a certain number of Arathi Basin battles, and another requires you to win the battle.
Doing battle in Arathi Basin improves your reputation with The Defilers (horde) or The League of Arathor (alliance).
When your reputation reaches Friendly, you can purchase special items from a vendor NPC near the battleground entrance. Regardless of your reputation, you can always browse the special items, have your armor repaired, and sell items to the faction vendor.
Reputation rewards
Collecting multiples of 200 resources (at 200, 400, 600, …) = 10 rep (total 100 rep if you win)
Control Four Bases Quest = 800 rep
Win an AB Quest = 50 rep
On the Battlegrounds Holiday weekend for Arathi Basin, the Reputation rewards are:

Collecting multiples of 150 resources (at 150, 300, 450, …) = 10 rep (total 130 rep if you win)

Rewards

The rewards from being exalted with Defilers/League of Arathor are shoulders mostly, with a cape, a dagger and a staff thrown in the mix:

Shoulder armour
Highlander’s Chain Pauldrons (hunter): Mail, 312 armour. +20 AGI, +18 STAM, +17 INT
Highlander’s Epaulets (Priest, mage, warlock): Cloth, 185 armour. +18 STAM, +17 INT. Equip: Increases damage and healing done by magical spells and effects by up to 12. Restores 4 mana per 5 sec.
Highlander’s Leather Spaulders (rogue, Druid): Leather, 258 armour. +12 AGI, +17 STAM, +12 INT. Equip: +30 Attack Power.
Highlander’s Leather Spaulders (rogue, druid): Leather, 258 armour. +18 AGI, +17 STAM. Equip: +30 Attack Power.
Highlander’s Lamellar Spaulders (Paladin): Plate, 553 armour. +18 STR, +17 AGI, +15 STAM, +10 INT.
Highlander’s Plate Spaulders (Warrior, Paladin): +18 STR, +17 AGI, +20 STAM.

Back
Cloak of the honour guard: 50 armour. +5 AGI, +11 STAM. Equip: +34 attack power.

Weapons
Ironbark Staff: Staff, 136-243 damage, 3.4s, 55.8DPS. +19 STAM, +10 INT. Equip: Improves your chance to get a critical strike with spells by 2%. Increases damage and healing done by magical spells and effects by up to 41.
Sageclaw: Dagger, 46-96 damage, 1.7s, 41.7DPS. +8 STAM. Increases damage and healing done by magical spells and effects by up to 30. Improves your chance to get a critical strike with spells by 1%.

Other rewards at lower lvls of rep can be seen at http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/basics/factions/arathi/index.html

And there you have it. AB games are fast, so you will need to run a lot of them, and you need to win to rep up at a decent rate. Now it’s up to you if you want to dedicate the time to repping

…. A Warriors Leveling Guide (1-60)

I’ve been reading all the threads here on (in the wow forums that is) for the last 6 months. Not many leveling guides or help for warriors and in fact a few threads asking for them. Well I tend to be a masochist in picking classes that I love but don’t have any ups (faster traveling, free mounts, healing, etc) thats why I tend to play a warrior or a priest.

Now for those rolling a warrior from scratch, hopefully this guild will help. I will give you the horde point of view ( I hate alliance though I have played alliance chars up to 20 a few time but the basis is usually the same). Now I wrote this with the PVP player in mind so for PVE servers it will be much easier for you to level. In this guide you will also see a talent build to take what points to put in at what levels and when to respec for maximum efficiency.

When picking your race, it does not matter. It truly doesn’t, in the end (PVP or PVE content) it comes down to skills. I will tell you I tend to pick an Orc, but any class has its ups and downs. Just pick what race you like.

Levels 1-6: Do all your quests in your starting zone. Its useful for rep and xp. When your done you should be level 5 so grind 6 away so you are more than prepared for the next zone.

Before you start your second zone go to the third, they tend to put quests in this zone for the second zone, so pick them all up and head to your second zone.

Level 7-11: Pick up all the quests and do them all. Not much thinking involved.

Levels 12-14: Third zone same thing here.

15-25: For horde you will be doing Silverpine, Crossroads then finish up in Stonetalon do quests. Stay away from grinding. Levels 19-23 do a couple of Wailing Caverns runs for some xp, quests and loot and if you want SFK and BFD.

Big keys: Always do chain quests. They always end (well, the majority of the time) with a great reward. Also if you are a solo type, stay away from orange quests or quests that you can’t do fairly easily. Wait until they are yellow or green. Always dump a grey quest. Also don’t spend your gold, save for your mount. And go into cooking and first aid and fishing get those and keep those as high as you can because its basically free healling and minimizes your down time.

Levels 26-37: Thousand Needles and Shimmering Flats. Stay away from the quests that tell you to go to another zone. Finish as many quests you want. Also run Gnomeragan and SM up to Cath.

38-44: Everyones favorite…..STV, hahaha. Pick up quests in Booty Bay then head to Grom’Gol, don’t forget to pick up the FP at the top of the build to the far right. Pick up all the quests in Grom’gol and try to do them all. Do SM runs for some no brainer xp and good loot. YOU WILL GET GANKED (on a pvp server) SO LIVE WITH IT.

45-50: Tanaris and Felwood are your friends. Do all the quests there and run ZF a few times for loot and xp.

50-54: Finish up your Tanaris and Felwood quests and if you havent and do Un’Goro. Pick up all the quests there and do them. There are a lot of alliance/horde, however they tend to leave you alone because they are either doing quests themselves or farming mats. I do suggest to take a buddy though. Start running Sunken Temple. Great loot and xp and if you are a skinner plenty dragons to skin.

55-57: I put off WPL till you are a higher level because on PVP servers this is gank central for high levels. Do quests there and in Wintersprings and don’t forget to equip your argent dawn trinket when in the plaguelands. Don’t turn in the scourge stones till after you get honored with argent dawn. Try to run BRD to get attuned to molten core and make sure you pick up the quest from the dead dwarve which you can only pick up when you are dead yourself to get the shadow forge key. BRD is your first taste of end game instancing. Very good loot and xp as well (if you are in a good group).

58-60: EPL and Silithus questing. If you want grind away but make sure you are rested if not just quest away.

There you have it. The key to level is knowing the quests and doing them. Thottbot or allakhazam is your friend. Plus questing doesn’t make you go insane like mindless grinding does.

Now for the talent choices…..

Levels 10-14: Cruelty (Crit is always good)
Levels 15-19: Unbridled Wrath (Gets you a lot of rage fast)
Levels 20-24: Improved Battle Shout (Ups your DPS)
Levels 25-29: Duel Wield Specialization (Ups your DPS again
Levels 30-32: Improved Rend (More damage)
Levels 33-34: Improved Heroic Stike (This will be your version of mortal strike or bloodthirst for the mean time use this and sunder armor always on mobs)
Levels 35-36: Improved Charge (Gets you more rage now)
Level 37: Improved Heroic Strike
Levels 38-39: Deflection (Not taking damage is always good)
Levels 40-42: Deep Wounds (More damge=execellent)
Levels 43-44: Improved Overpower (Critting on a rogue especially a night elf is fun)

When you hit level 45 you are going to respec.

Now what to respec at 45 to…..

Your will put 31 points into Fury:
5 in Cruelty
5 in Unbridled Wrath
5 in Improved Battle Shout
5 in Duel Wield Specialization
5 in Enrage
4 in Flurry
1 in Deathwish
and 1 in Bloodthirst

That leaves 5pts left what to put them in?

Put 5 in Anticipation from the defense tree….

wtf? why?

1pt of defense, and correct me if I am wrong or leaving out something gives you 0.4% chance to block, parry and dodge. With 5pts in anticipation it gives you 10 defense which in turn gives you 4% extra chance to block, parry and dodge.

Now I will suggest what else to put in up until level 59 so when you hit 60 you can put that last point in or respec.

Levels 46-47: Improved Beserker Rage
Levels 48-49: Improved Bloodrage
Levels 50-54: Deflection
Levels 55-59: Toughness
Level 60 if you wish: Piercing Howl, its great in BG

So I went over near Uther’s tomb in WPL on Sunday October 9th to go and grind some guys for reputation points. Since there were so many people clearing the groups, i said screw you guys i’m going into the crypt. Now on the outside there’s a group of four skeletons that will aggro as well as one skeleton that patrols the stairs. If you kill the group of four guys, you’re in the clear. Go down the stairs, stand near the mobs, and you’ll hear them ‘grunt’ but they don’t aggro. You won’t enter combat, they won’t attack, absolutely nothing happens. Take advantage of it, kill the 8-10 mobs in the room, loot em, and wait for the respawn if you’re lazy. Now there’s one skeleton, he sits away from the group on the right and the group on the left, he’s like a loner. (I guess that’s a good way to describe it) Anyway, this mob is completely bugged and WILL NOT DIE. I sat there for an hour just leveling up all my weapons on the mob and he did not go below 1/4 the entire time.

I think i need to mention, there is a catch to these mobs. If you cannot do a steady 25 dps against them, they regenerate their health.

The other good news, if you’re 53+, you can go down to the bottom of the crypt for a rare spawn that drops a number of blue items, i can’t even list all the ones he has dropped.

So, if you stumble across this area and you’re only lvl 20…how much experience would you get?

800-1200 xp a mob from plvling

We level’d a mage from 20-40 in roughly 15 hours – that’s a world record – i think

Hi, im here to tell you guys the way i ninja 2 bosses in ZF before the group inside got mad and left. Thats right im not part of the dungeon group. this is a little time consuming, but id like it tried out on Higher level instances.
You must first be part of the instance group, then when your on the group, walk inside the instance you are going to and pull the whole ‘!@#$%^&* i gotta go thing’
after this log out
the group will mostly likely replace you
after you log out a screen pops up that says you have 59 secs til you are hearthed cuz you are not part of the groups instance, you actually have 39 secs to run thru the instance and log back out. The timer will restart, and you have more time, but it gets easy to run thru as the group you were previously with clears the way.
the only downside i have seen to this is if you want to ninja a boss they have to kill it within 39 secs, which i think was only possible for me in zf becuz of the 2 level 60s in the group, but i did happen to get rare mace from the bastalisk boss Ahnt’ sul i think it is. i think with this you can at least ninja some xp in higher level instances. But it worked for me, so now ill let you guys know.

Personally, I like to
make an honest gold coin. Ripping off other players is not my game, BUT, I’m here to deliver you
the information. Even if you are an honest player, knowing this info is good because it will keep
you on guard against the shadow players that like to scam you for a quick gold.

METHOD ONE: The AH Dupe

METHOD TWO: AH Monopoly

The AH Dupe: A Crooked way to Gain gold

‘A fool and his money are soon parted.’

With so many pockets running around the game, it is very possible to scam others out of their
money. Not everyone is financially bright, and these methods take advantage of that. First of all,
don’t be stupid and use your main to do these. Get a mule (a different character), or even better
yet, a mule on a completely separate account, to mask your actions.

This works. Plain and simple. It takes advantage of human psychology of repetition. And it can
get you a very rapid 100 gold.

What it is:

The AH Dupe tries to ‘trick’ an auction buyer who is making a BUY-OUT purchase of a routine
item that normally sells for X amount of silver, into purchasing it for X amount of gold. the AH
dupe uses monotony to lull the purchaser into repetitious clicking, causing them to pay less
attention to what they are buying, and inadvertently purchasing the item for gold instead of silver.

How it works:

Have you ever driven a car at night, staring at the white lines zooming by on the road, and
suddenly realize that 5 minutes have gone by (or longer) and you have no idea how you were
able drive? You dont have a clue what cars have or have not been around you, because you
totally spaced out. Your subconscious mind went into ‘auto-pilot’ and you safely drove your car.
This is called ‘being human’. Anyone exposed to repeated, repetitious stimuli is subject to losing
their ability to distinguish one from another. Can happen to anyone…including a wow auction
buyer.

Look at this list:

* Do you want to purchase this item for 88 silver? Yes/No
* Do you want to purchase this item for 88 silver? Yes/No
* Do you want to purchase this item for 88 silver? Yes/No
* Do you want to purchase this item for 88 silver? Yes/No
* Do you want to purchase this item for 88 silver? Yes/No
* Do you want to purchase this item for 88 silver? Yes/No

The auction buyer sees a bunch of useful consumables (such as stacks of 20 light feathers, or
stacks of silk cloths, or free action potions, etc. Anything that is popular with players). he sees a
big list in the AH of these stacks, and they are going for the normal buy-out rate. He starts
purchasing them like he always does. One after another, clicking through each screen. He doesn’t really notice that one says ’88 gold‘ instead of ’88 silver’ so he clicks it anyway.

What you need to do:

Sell at least 6 or more IDENTICAL items on the AH. Make them for the normal going rate (not
cheaper or you could stand to lose money). Put them up back to back in one long list. The
buyout on the fifth item is gold instead of silver. Everything else must be identical. There is a
chance that the buyer will get ‘caught’ in your scam. Its not guaranteed, but there are always
dummies around that will be duped. This is a scam, and everyone who buys frequently from the
AH is susceptible to it.

Yes it does work. Numerous people have posted long rants on the official boards being
scammed like this.

METHOD TWO: Monopolize the AH

I’m just going to quote a post from the official boards that explains this rather nicely. This post is
no longer on the forums (they remove posts after a certain amount of days), so I cannot link it,
and didn’t get the name of the person that wrote it. Fortunately, I did copy it the day I read it, so
its not mine, but here it is- it outlines perfectly how to make a fortune by monopolizing the
Auction House. Its cl######ic economics 101: BUY LOW, SELL HIGH. Read on:

I cancelled my account a while back for reasons there’s no point in disclosing, so I figured I’d tell
everyone how they can be financially secure forever like I was.

I had about five active alts and a main which I kept equipment and skills up to date by the level
and had enough cash on me to afford my mount by level 25 with all my alts having about 15 gold
on them at any point in time.

I see so many people talking about how they’re level 40-45 and still can’t afford their mount and
blah blah blah, it’s funny. These are the same people who ironically state, ‘Stay away from the
auction house!’ or you won’t make any money.

Go ahead and go to the AH. It’s as simple as buy low, sell high. Just like in the real world! Yet it
feels almost as if it’s this big secret.

All I did was make level five newbie, sit him at the auction house and log on maybe once or twice
a day to bid on stuff and check mail. Took probably five minutes to do each session.

Find a product you want to do and see what the average buyout price is. Then bid on auctions
ending in Short and Medium (as there’s usually little point in bidding on Long unless you wanna
collect all your outbids later), for as little as you can. Buyout other auctions for significantly less
than your Buyout. Bid on any good that’s normally sold by itself that is stacked for a super
discount. A good example is Black Pearls. Normally people buy one. Every once in a while some
guy sells a stack of 16 for only like 10 gold. Usually only takes 1 bid to win it!

The only ‘hard’ part is keeping up with market price trends, but after a while, you won’t even have
to write them down anymore as you’ll be able to memorize them effortlessly with practice and the
prices don’t fluctuate too drastically.

For the super lazy, here was my excel sheet of the market demand of Silver Hand a few weeks
ago. Prices will vary on your server.

Leathers
Light Leather 9s 99c
Medium Leather 19s 99c
Heavy Leather 29s 99c
Thick Leather 74s 99c

Bars
Copper Bar 39s 99c
Tin Bar 34s 99c
Bronze Bar 34s 99c
Truesilver Bar 79s 99c

Other
Moss Agate 99s 99c
Iridescent Pearl 84s 99c
Black Pearl 1g 29s 99c
Runecloth 2g 99s 99c
Turtle Scale (10)* 1g 59s 99c

Cloth
Mageweave Cloth 1g 19s 99c
Wool Cloth 39s 99s
Linen Cloth 24s 99c
Vision Dust 1g 39s 99c

New Stuff
Star Ruby 69s 99c

Enchantment
Greater magic ess. 1g 49s 99c
Small glimmering shrd 49s 99c
Large glimmering shrd 3g 49s 99c
Large glowing shard 3g 39s 99c
Soul dust 54s 99c
Strange dust 59s 99c

The bold goods are once that were in very healthy demand and supply. However, you don’t even
have to limit yourself to trade goods. If you even wanted to take a bit of a risk, bid on some blue
or purple items or blacksmithing recipes. Big returns on those. Mainly, I just stuck with probably
three or four items from that list and made a fortune. And it was fun doing it! My level five guy has
demonslaying on his newb sword–it kicks ######. Here’s a screenshot:
http://img123.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img123&…espimpin4xa.jpg

Good luck guys and see ya later!!

As with most of my strategies, I look for "off the beaten path" type of money makers. This one is no diffrent.

We will call this one…

"Please feed the twinks."

Twinking is very popular right now with the hot spots being the 10-19 WSG and 20-29 WSG. This guide will focus on the 10-19 WSG twink crowd. Farming blues can be not only difficult because most useful ones are world drops but plain boring as hell. This guide will show you how to make it as painless as possible.

The Strat

By far the highest concentration of kick ass twink gear is found in Shadowfang Keep. Both caster and melee items that are BoE and in the 16-19 range can be found here off any of the trash mobs inside. The holy grail of twink weapons is the assassin’s blade.
http://thottbot.com/?i=12802
Rogues wet themselves for one of these and will pay upwards of 150g for one. It’s the single best dagger for that level and if you drop say firey (for the budget twinks) or crusader (the fat wallets) on it and you are a machine on par with the 20-29 crowd. That’s why its so popular. Sadly, I GAVE this to a guildie before I became aware of it’s value. I just figured it was a decent blue dagger and since I was a 60 rogue, didn’t have any use for it.

Not a dagger rogue??? How about this 1 hand sword…
http://thottbot.com/?i=11366
Again, sword rogue heaven. This in your main with assassin’s in your off…wow!

But Cowboy, I’m not a rogue… /cry Fear not.
Here’s is the warrior’s version of the assassin’s blade.
http://thottbot.com/?i=12599

I personally sold one of these for 60g. Gave the other to my warrior. Again, drop a crazy 300 level enchant on it ON TOP of the nice proc and you’ve got a death stick to be proud of.
Slightly lower in the food chain but still a nice proc is this.
http://thottbot.com/?i=11109
Another nice 2 hander for a warrior or a pally.

If for some reason you want to carry a shield (I dunno why) and need a heavy hitting 1 hander try this (also great for hunters).
http://thottbot.com/?i=11691
This is aonther one I’ve personally sold. I set the buyout at 35g and it went in less then 2 hours. Probably could have gotten more but oh well. Looks cool as hell too.

Casters kinda get the hose in SFK but there are a few nice BoEs for you guys too.

This is mainly for the stats and a lock would enjoy this much me thinks…
http://thottbot.com/?i=9069

Not exactly what you want in WSG but the intel is very high for the level.
http://thottbot.com/?i=11136
Yeah, that says NEGATIVE 5 stamina

That’s ALOT of specific level blues in 1 place and all are BoE. The drop rates are low just like any blue item but the mob density and relative small size of the instance makes it much nicer then grinding world mobs hoping for a specific item. Also, if youre an enchanter, all the boss blues DE into large glowing shards which sell for about 1g. I average about 3-5 blues (BoP) per run and anywhere from 6-15 green drops that I can sell on the AH from 50s to 1g50s depending on the item. That means I’m making about 8-16g for around 30-45 minutes work. If a twink item drops then it’s a whole diffrent story.

Good luck and happy twinking!

Timbermaw Hold – has rewards for enchanting / tailor / leatherworker / blacksmith / alchemy
http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info…aw/rewards.html

Grinding faction with the Timbermaw is one of the more time consuming factions to gain. There are two zones with two or three area’s to kill mobs for faction.

The first zone is Felwood (http://www.thottbot.com/?z=67). Here you will kill Deadwood Avengers, Den Watchers, Gardeners, Shaman, Pathfinders, and Warriors. Each kill is worth 5 rep. One of the first quest you want to gain is ‘Deadwood of the North’. This quest will require you to kill X number of Deadwood mobs. Once you have completed the quest you then get a repeatable quest to turn in 5 Deadwood Headdress Feathers. Each turn in is worth 50 rep if my memory serves me correct. Also, while killing the deadwood creatures you will come upon a unique item called ‘Deadwood Ritual Totem’. Once you are neutral with the Timbermaw You can turn in the totem for even more rep.

The other location to gain Timbermaw rep is in Winterspring (http://www.thottbot.com/?z=71). Here you will kill Winterfall Totemics, Pathfinders, Den Watchers, Shaman, Ursas, Runners, and the High Chief Winterfall. The High Chief is worth 25 rep and the other mobs 5 rep. Like in Felwood you can get a quest called ‘Winterfall Activity’ to kill X number of Winterfalls for rep. Once you have done that quest you can do the repeatable quest to turn in Winterfall Spirit Beads. Also, just like in Felwood a unique item drops that starts a quest called Winterfall Ritual Totem. Once you are neutral with the Timbermaw you can turn in the totem for even more rep.

Cenarion Circle – has rewards for enchanting / leatherworker
http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info…tions/cenarion/

I have just started working on my Cenarion Circle faction. As such this may not be a complete guide. One of the first quest that you can gain to earn faction is called ‘True Believers’ and ‘Secret Communications’. You kill humanoids called Twilight Avengers, GeoLords, Stonecallers, etc. to find Encrypted Twilight Texts. You can continue to turn in 10 pages for faction. Each Twilight you kill also gives you 1 rep point. Once you have reached friendly with Cenarion Circle you can continue on to another quest. Here you collect a Twilight Cultist set (Robe, Cowl, Mantle) in order to gain access to a lesser summon stone I think it is. Useing the stone brings forth a level 58-60 elite. Killing the elite drops another item that you collect. Sorry, only done it once so far and can’t remember the name. Collect three of these to get a token or something that is then used to move up to bigger and better summoned mobs. At the highest tier you can summon a god which is a 40 man raid boss mob.

Thorium Brotherhood – has rewards for Enchanting / Blacksmith / Leatherworking / Tailoring / Alchemy
http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info…ium/vendor.html

Be prepared to do alot of farming or spend some $$ to gain Thorium Brotherhood faction. There are a number of quest in Searing Gorge (http://www.thottbot.com/?z=55) to get you started. Once you have done all the starter quest you can then work on a repeatable quest to get your rep up to friendly. The quest is called ‘Restoring Fiery Flux Supplies’ and will either use iron, heavy leather, or kingsblood. You will also need to collect Incendosaur Scales to add with the iron, heavy leather, or kingsblood when turning in the quest. Once you hit friendly status with the Brotherhood you need to start collecting Dark Iron Residue. There are three ways to collect residue. The easy way is to just buy residue from the AH. The other two ways is to mine
dark iron nodes that spawn randomly or to loot residue from the npc’s in the BRD instance.

Argent Dawn – has rewards for everyone
http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info…ent/vendor.html

Argent Dawn rep is one of the easier factions to gain. To start there are numerous quest for both the horde and alliance to perform. Once those are done you can continue to kill the undead in Western and Eastern Plaguelands, and the instances in those zones for ‘tokens’ to turn in for rep.

Major City Faction
There are three main ways to ‘farm’ a major city faction outside of your normal every day quest currently. First way is to turn in runecloth to gain rep with a specific city. The second way is to turn in supplies for the AQ war effort and then turn in the tokens for rep. The last way is to farm rep in AV. Each time you turn in a body part, mine supply, etc. in AV you not only get the AV rep but also +10 or more rep with a major city. So you can easily gain access to a cross-racial mount.

Additional Rewards
Texts add 100 rep per 10 turned in, on my server the usually go 20g/stack of 20. you can, as the OP said grind rep from the twilight guys (1 per kill, up to 5 for the ‘twilight keeper’ mobs) and collect the texts off them. turn in 10 texts and you’ve got a nice chunk of rep.

after you summon the Templars from the Lesser Windstones (the ones that need just the robe/cowl/mantle. also noted you can usually Duo these, get a tank and a healer and you’re set.) you can turn 3 of the Crests in, along with a Large Brilliant Shard, to get an item to summon Dukes. Dukes get summoned from the Regular Windstones, and require the mantle/cowl/robe and the necklace you got from turning in the 3 crests and the LBS. they can usually be 5 manned, and you will need a warrior to hold aggro. Dukes have some very interesting loot, Soulrenders are popular for Hunters/DW Fury Warriors, etc. Dukes give roughly 25 rep per kill (i think). you kill 3 of them, with each kill you get Signets. these Blue items can be turned into CH, along with 5 LBS for a ring to summon Lords. Lord summons require the mantle/cowl/robe, the Neck from summoning the Dukes, as well as the ring you got for turning in the 3 signets and the LBS’s. these lords require 20-40 people depending on your guild’s skill level and gear level. they drop some REALLY good epic quality items, one per type (Fire drops a caster ring, Water drops a healer neck, Wind drops a DPS cloak, and Earth drops a warrior shield.) these, when killed, give 50 rep (i think) and give you an Abyssal Scepter. these get turned in for rep as well… i dont know how much (usually whoever supplies a majority of the mats for summoning Lords gets it)

also, if your server has opened up AQ, AQ20 is a good place to get rep. bosses give 100 CC rep per kill, trash mobs give 1-5 per kill, but theres a lot of trash in there. so if you’ve got a good guild together, tear up AQ20 for some fun rep grinding.

most importantly, save quests for when you’re Honored or Revered, same with texts. grind the trash in Silithus until they dont give rep any more, then turn in those texts you’ve been saving as well as the quests you’ve been saving as well.

AD Rep grind: if you’re high level (upper 50′s to 60) theres a good spot in EPL you can grind on. Fungal Glade, on my server, is RARELY camped, and i can usually make constant circles around it solo. the NPCs up here drop Invaders Scourgestones, and give rep until you’re Revered with AD. after you hit Revered, go ahead and turn in those tokens (10 Invader’s gives you an honor token, which gives like 50 rep i think) and grind Scholomance (more bosses = more rep ) and turn in those quests you’ve been saving up.

I will try to get a screen shot of this tonight, but I have found a way to mount on the boat, then jump onto the dock mounted and ride off.

I took the boat from the wetlands to Menethil, and I took the stupid boat that’s west of Dire Maul.

Anyway…

Go up to the second floor, and walk out on the ropes towards the side you will have to get off the boat. Then walk forward, on the rope until you are on the 45 degree slanted part, that slants forward (you will now be standing at an angle down). Now click mount. Keep trying it and you will get it. In relation to the opening on the boat you walk back onto the dock, it is closer to the back of the boat (but not past the end of the opening) where you can mount. Once you are there, jump off the top, and you’re set (don’t just walk off).

This is a guide to leveling as rogue. This guide encompasses subjects like leveling, specs and gear.

The class
The rogue is the master of the quick melee kill. Unlike the warrior, the rogue starts at full effiency (100% energy) and relies on burst DPS to survive. With only leather armour, you need to take down your target fast and be careful of adds.

The class is great as a farmer and one of the best damage dealers in the game in groups. In groups the DPS aspect of the rogue really shines through, as some of the higher damge moves are position dependent (backstab) and with a tank, you can really let rip.

Leveling Methods
Rogues are pretty straight forward to lvl and are the perfect grinders. Stealth, sap and distract make rogues able to sneak to most places and complete quests. Sicne rogues are very good at grinding, you can mix quests and grinding more freely, as opposed to the DPS-challenged classes.

The following is a link to the rogue FAW on the US boards, with loads of useful links.
http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=11381359&sid=1

Whichever you choose, I highly suggest doing nothing but instances from 58-60 to gear up and get all your key quests done. Not doing so, means missing out on a huge amount of XP.

The traditional ways are:

Grinding:
Not much to say about this. You kill mobs, they give XP, you lvl. If you don’t have a comprehensive knowledge of where quests take you and which order is best, grinding is pretty fast for leveling.
It can be pretty boring, but listening to music or being on Vent/TS helps a lot. Get a rhytm going and stay in it. Take breaks when you mana up to not go completely blind

The following is pretty good list of where to grind which mobs. It is however from a horde perspective and you need to scroll down a bit to get to the guide If you read the whole bit, there are some suggestions for alternatives, which work just as well…if not better.
http://www.mpsgames.com/ms/index.cfm?page=topic&topicID=31653&categoryid=20&forumid=63

And the following lists some nice alliance spots for grinding. Also are some suggestions on questing.
http://www.wow-pro.com/Knowledge_Base/op=show/kid=515.html

Questing:
If you know your way around the world, this is the fastest way to level up. This is also known as gresting to some. Decent horde guides are few and far between (there are some on this site), alliance have it a lot better.

horde – if you are horde, use Joana’s guide. That will take you from 1-60 in 5 days /played. It’s written from a hunter perspective, so my suggestion is staggering your progress in the guide by a lvl or two. Other than that, there are some (admittedly with holes in them) guides here in the strat section. An idea is to try and modify the following alliance guide.
http://forums.blizzhackers.com/viewtopic.php?t=309717 is the text guide (thanks Bay_Cassius
http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=wow+world+of+warcraft+levels are links to all the videos (thanks sQren)

alliance – if you are alliance, you got it made! The following guide will quickly and easily take you from 30-60. Reason it’s 30, is because of the quests pre that are in and around the starter areas, so just level quickly to 30 and you are set.
http://www.wow-pro.com/node/599

Talent Specs
For leveling I recommend spec’ing for swords. Sword damage rely less on positioning and more on frontal, white/normal damage. If you do 58-60 exclusively in instances, consider spec’ing daggers, since it’s a big damage upgrade, but it relies on postioning and a good tank. Considering you may need to PUG instances (and tanks may suck), swords are still very much an option.

This is the spec I suggest for leveling:
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=f0ecoxxZMhEz0Vzxb

Fill out malice and imp SnD first, then move to combat and fill that out up until swords and blade flurry, then fill out rest of Assasination.

Method of pulling: With swords, you don’t really need to be stealthed or positioned, so just pull with ranged and wail on the target. If you are up against multiple hard mobs (high yellow), it pays to sap one and take the others down, then the sapped one. There isn’t really any large downtime after a fight, only the need to bandage up every 5 mobs or so (if that).

OneHitWonder is a very useful add-on for grinding, since you can set it up to apply various attacks at the press of one button.
http://www.curse-gaming.com/en/wow/addons-121-1-onehitwonder.html

Gear
Rogues are stuck with leather their whole life, so can’t take a beating for too long. Focus on AGI, and lots of it, mixed up with some STAM and STR. Personally, I go all out on AGI and STR to get targets down faster in PVE, but you need more STAM if you PVP. At around lvl 45, you can get the thrash blade from Maraudon, which should last you until 58-60.

The following is a link to a very useful site with loads of gear tables, incl. FR gear.
http://shadowpanther.net/wow.htm

Apart from that, rogue is a very fun class, that is easy to play, but hard to master. When you start raiding, consult this thread on how to maximize your DPS using daggers:
http://www.mpsgames.com/ms/index.cfm?page=topic&forumid=24&topicID=36669&categoryid=20

Enjoy
