This guide is for any enchanters that can disenchant to large brilliant shards and can stealth. In my experience a stealthed enchanter is by far the most profitable. I am a 70 Rogue specced 21/0/40 and in pvp blues and instance blues. I by no means have uber gear so Id imagine a well geared rogue or druid could take this guide a little further. I am using the follow guide to work on my epic flying mount and to stock pile gold. I am over 3k as I post this with hopes to having my mount by the end of this weekend. I do apologize if the following has been posted

What you will need

Rogue will need the shadowforge key or lockpicking high enough to get through the doors.

Druid will of course need the key, its pretty easy to get at 70 though.

First part

Start off by entering the instance and working your way through the door to the left. Continue on to the next gate and enter through it. Come up to the East Garrison door and go through it (do not unlock the locking mechanism in the back of this room just yet) Continue up the ramp and make your way through the arena. Take the other exit out of the arena and go down the right side of the hall until you get to the Monument of Franclorn Forgewright. There you will see an rare elite (always up but still has the rare symbol) named Pyromancer Loregrain. These are easy kills, at 70 you pretty much resist everything, just make sure his 2 buddies don t have a chance to run or you can aggro the group behind you. Do not DE his blue item, it will only DE into a small brilliant shard and his staff sells for a little over 4g to a vendor and the others sell for around 2. The only reason you kill him is he has a 12% chance to drop the fiery weapon enchant recipe which sells for 35-40g on my server.

Second Part

The next part we will be heading to the Vault. This is the room where the coffer keys can be used and the dark coffer key. So head back down the hall past where you cam out of the arena, cross the bridge and go through the domicle. Continue out of that and go around to you get to the vault. There you will see Warder Stilgiss and his demon Verek guarding the coffer room. These are very easy kills also, just kill Warder and then take out the demon. I have never aggroed the room before them and I always kill them right where they stand. His demon has a chance to drop his collar (see it maybe 1 out of every 4 runs) DE this every time, turns into a large brilliant shard. DE everything Warder Stilgiss drops except Arbiters Blade (it will DE into a small brilliant shard and sells more to vendor that shard is worth).

Optional

Dark Keeper locations. There is only 3 places I will go after the dark keeper. To spawn him look at the portrait in the first room where you just killed Warder Stilgiss, read it and it will tell you where the Keeper just spawned. I have highlighted on the map where 3 spawns are that I kill him (feel free to try the others but when he spawns in the bar or in west garrison I always end up dying because of adds and its not worth my time) if you get a good spawn then approach him, he is again a very easy kill, I kill him and his 2 guards in hopes of getting a regular coffer key also. Loot him and return to the vault and open the middle lock in the back of the room. Usuall get a green that will DE into illusion dust or greater nether essence.

Third Part

This part we will be going after Lord Incendius. Go right out of the vault you were just in and he is right below you. I go to where you came out of the Domicile and just jump down. This guy can catch you off guard if you don t position yourself. He can knock you off the platform and into the lava so just make sure you are always in a position that you have room behind you. Other than that he is pretty simple. Rogues cloak of shadows is useful here. DE every blue he drops, they are all Large Brilliant Shards. Exit out the SW side down the Dark Iron Highway until you get back to the gates you unlocked when you first enetered (this is why you didn t unlock that locking mechanism at first so the door on the high way would remain open.

Fourth Part

The last two parts will be in the Bar. The next go we will go after is Phalanx. He is the Golem in the corner of the bar. You have to do a little quest event to make him aggressive and killable. On the upper side of the bar is a little goblin named Plugger Spazzring. Buy all the dark ale mug (note he sometimes has a rare leather working pattern that sells decent on AH). Directly across from him is a dwarf (can t remember his name but he is green to you, do not talk to NPCs that are yellow to ya) After you give him a few things of the ale he will start off a mini even where he looks for more ale in the kegs, hill will damage the last keg and this will trigger Phalanx. I pull him to the corner he came from and kill him there, keep your back to the wall cause he knocks you back also. DE any blue he drops into a large brilliant shard..

Fifth Part

The last person you will kill for a shard is Hurley Blackbreath. Go to the lower section of the bar in to the far room where no one is there. There is 3 clickable kegs all bunched together. Click each one. On the last keg Hurley and his gang will come running in. they will not aggro you. He has 3 guards with him. As a rogue, just sap one guard kill Hurley, loot and vanish. If youre a druid im guessing you could kill all with ease with your heals.

More Options

If you in need of a 16 slot bag or ammo pouch you can also kill Ribbly Screwspigot in the bar, he is just outside where you just killed Hurley, just talk to him and run back into where you killed Hurley. The only thing is all his bags are unique so you can only have one of each.

Repeat

Pretty sure there is more ways to make gold in here but I have found this to work best for me. I can do this run over and over never worrying about being in an instance too many times cause it takes almost 20 min per run. In these 20 min runs I get the following

3-5 Large Brilliant Shards - 7 gold each on my server

Fiery Enchant recipe 35 gold on my server (remember this is just a 12% chance but I have seen it drop up to 3 times in a row)

Around 5-10g (depending on if I get things I don t wanna DE) in vendor blues and and coin from NPCs

This is a chance for almost 80g in 20-30 minutes (all depending on what things sell for on your server)

Also note I know there is other things I can kill before all this but Im in it for Large Brilliant Shards and nother before this except the arena event (which kills my speed of this) drops anything that DE's to Large Brilliant Shards.

I would like to get better gear and try to go deeper in this where I can kill General Angorforge (I get him to 20% and he calls his buddies lol) and maybe the chest event.

Please don t go bragging to everyone if you start profiting off this. gold is so hard to make and this works really well, and we don't want to see it changed.

NOTE:

First of all I wanna just say that i dont reccommend this for non Dark Elf payers (considering it is near Auberdine and getting there through the Wetlands (OUCH!) is too hard for a lower lvl to cross).

———————————————————————————————————————————-

So, Where Is This Magical Place I Can Spend My golden Lvl 10-14 Years In?

Well, it is South of Auberdine on the beaches. You should have the flight plath from darnassus already or you can take the boat after exiting the city through the glowing purple portal near the scary animal tree.

———————————————————————————————————————————-

Now What Should I Do Here?

Well there are two different kinds of creatures to kill here, Young Reef Crawlers and Pygmy Tide Crawlers. They are lvl 10 or 11 so players in their teens wont have a hard time killing them. They also wont just attack you like many creatures so you can kill at you leisure without being attacked. The only thing that you have to contend with are lvl 11 or 12 Greymists (Murlocs) that are in groups of three or four and aren't social.

Now you might ask, "Im 14 and why am I killing lvl 10's and 11's." Well, thats because of what these marvelous creatures drop.

First of all they drop clams, with clam meat, which might not seem too great but these clams also have a very good chance at dropping Small Lustrious Pearls, which sell for 2s. These are in around 20% of the clams here I found. Not too shabby for lvl 10, eh?

They also drop Clean Fishbones, Yummy!, they only sell for 46 copper each but there on just about every dead crab out there.

One last thing that sells for good $ are Beady Eye Stalks which sell 71 copper each and are very common.

If all that wasn't it, there is a man, Blubber Glump, I think, if you like quests with crawlers. You can get a nice fishing rod too.

———————————————————————————————————————————-

Hope this helps and good luck!

Enchanting 'Grind'

Nothing has been posted about grinding through enchanting yet, so here's my attempt.

The following is a *rough strategy* of how to skill up in enchanting. This might not be 100% accurate, but should give anybody a good idea of how to tackle what is the most awkward profession in the game. In addition I am currently only level 257 in Enchanting - so I am not prepared to comment much beyond 250!

As with all professions, enchanting definitely is easier to grind after you have a character at level 40 or greater. This way up until level 40, you can concentrate on getting cash for your mount. For a 'support' profession, you really need one that allows you to easily make green items. Tailoring is the most sensible, as all of the ingredients are avaible as drops or vendor bought. Leatherworking is also a very good profession for making green items, especially higher level ones (i.e. lvl 40~55), as the requirement tends to be leather and a few vendor materials. That said, my own preference is a 'collection' profession (Skinning, Mining, Herbalism), as you can then sell these items for much needed cash.

As hard as I've tried, I've not been able to come up with a definitive list of what to grind on at specific skill levels. The reason being that its impossible to know what each individual person has in the way of resources. A person who has access to somebody with Engineering or Blacksmith, is likely to end up with lots of essences, whereas a person with access to Tailoring or Leatherworking, will end up with lots of Dust. In addition, disenchant results are slightly random - something which generally gives Dust may suddenly give you an Essence or even a Shard, though it doesn't happen often, it is often enough to make life difficult to create a perfect guide (Weapons seem to be more random than Armor).

One useful hint that I can give you is with reference to when an Enchant initially goes from Orange to Yellow. You should still get a skill up for the first 5/10 enchants you do. You may get one non-skill up from this 'buffer', but its still worth doing if there are no more efficient enchants.

Endeavour to locate a *good* list of Enchants, and go from one level to the next. Every time you hit a 'magic 5' (i.e. multiple of 5: 5, 10, 15 etc) look on the list and see if there is a more efficient item that you could be making, often there will be.

Try to be semi-self supporting. Once you hit 150 in Enchanting, there is no reason why you shouldn't be selling some of your enchants for around the 1g/2g mark. This definitely helps the cash flow no end. Level 250 is where your enchants become more popular, and you can charge a significant chunk of money for enchants. If you get the balance right, then you should be able to buy the raw disenchanted ingredients and break even once you have done some enchants.

I cannot iterate the following enough, but always disenchant quest rewards - around 50% of the time I find that they drop shards. Although the sell price of the item seems very attractive at times, the disenchanted items should make you more.

If you're in a guild then see if you can team up with somebody else who wants to grind up a skill. Leatherworking is a good one. If you pick up skinning, then give them all your leather and get them to make up green items for you to disenchant. Both of you benefit

One other possible difficulty is trying to get the raw rod for enchanting (e.g. copper, silver, golden, truesilver, arcanite). My own take on this, is to try and buy all of the ingredients to make one, and then try to find a blacksmith who is prepared to make one. Offering double the cost of the learned blacksmith recipe is a good idea as well, as this way the blacksmith will make a profit even if they have had to learn the recipe. Arcanite Rods are also very difficult to get. They require a high level Alchemist and a high level Blacksmith, plus a dropped recipe (Transmute Arcanite), rare resources (Arcane Crystals) - and that's before you even get to enchant the thing. Expect to pay upwards of 100g for an Arcanite Rod.

Bear in mind as well, that the Artisan trainer for Enchanting is within the Uldmaan Instance. This however isn't too much of a hassle, as you can't train in Artisan Enchanting until level 35, and that's about the right level for this instance. Go with a level 60 friend and life will be really easy, but if not, then go with a group and make sure that you want to stop off there for around 10 minutes to level up enchanting. Offer the whole group enchants that will get you skill ups if necessary! I would recommend however, to level up to 225 before going to Uldmaan, and taking enough resources with you to level up from 225 to 250 in the instance. Also take about 20g with you and you can learn every 225~250 enchant that can be taught, that way you will never have to go back into the instance. The reason for stopping at 250, is that every enchant with a requirement beyond 250, is vendor bought or dropped.

—-

Although I can't create a definitive list of what to do when, the following is a rough idea of what to go for. I've concentrated on things that require Dusts as it is generally easier to get Dust than anything else.

1~50 - Disenchant anything!
1 - Enchant Chest - Minor Health (1 x Strange Dust)
50 - Enchant Bracer - Minor Stamina (3 x Strange Dust)
80 - Enchant Bracer - Minor Strength (5 x Strange Dust)
110 - Enchant 2H Weapon - Lesser Spirit (6 x Strange Dust)
130 - Enchant Bracer - Lesser Stamina (2 x Soul Dust)
140 - Enchant Bracer - Lesser Strength (2 x Soul Dust)
160 - Enchant Chest - Greater Health (3 x Soul Dust)
170 - Enchant Boots - Lesser Stamina (4 x Soul Dust)
180 - Enchant Bracer - Strength (1 x Vision Dust)
205 - Enchant Cloak - Greater Defence (3 x Vision Dust)
210 - Enchant Shield - Stamina (5 x Vision Dust)
215 - Enchant Boots - Stamina (5 x Vision Dust)
220 - Enchant Chest - Superior Health (6 x Vision Dust)
245 - Enchant Bracer - Greater Stamina (5 x Dream Dust)
260 - Enchant Boots - Greater Stamina (10 x Dream Dust)
265 - Enchant Shield - Greater Stamina (10 x Dream Dust)
285 - Enchant Cloak - Superior Defence (8 x Illusion Dust)

Erm - Ok, you could use this as a what to grind at what level I guess :p

—-

The following is a reasonable list of efficient green armor items to make and disenchant. I've concentrated on Leatherworking and Tailoring, for the simple reason, that I don't consider Blacksmithing and Engineering to be very efficient as nearly all green items require 'uncommon' resources. Although alot of green Leather items require Hides, not all do, and at higher levels the requirement for hide drops significantly.

Strange Dust -
T30 - Brown Linen Robe (Low Yield) - 3 Bolts Linen (6) + 1 Coarse Thread
T85 - Heavy Woolen Cloak - 3 Bolts Wool (9) + 2 Fine Thread
L105 - Fine Leather Pants - 8 x Med Leather + 1 Bolt Wool (3) + 1 Fine Thread

Soul Dust -
L150 - Green Leather Armor (Vendor) - 9 x Heavy Leather + 2 x Green Dye + 4 x Fine Thread
L160 - Guardian Pants - 12 x Heavy Leather + 2 x Bolts Silk (10) + 2 x Fine Thread
T165 - Green Silk Armor (Drop) - 5 Bolts Silk (20) + 1 Silken Thread
T175 - Azure Silk Cloak (Vendor) - 3 Bolts Silk (15) + 2 Fine Thread + 2 Blue Dye
T205 - Black Mageweave Leggings - 3 Bolts Mageweave (15) + 2 Silken Thread
T205 - Black Mageweave Vest - 2 Bolts Mageweave (10) + 3 Silken Thread

Vision Dust -
L205 - Nightscape Headband - 5 x Thick Leather + 2 x Silken Thread
T210 - Black Mageweave Robe - 3 Bolts Mageweave (15) + 1 Heavy Silken Thread
T215 - Black Mageweave Gloves - 2 Bolts Mageweave (10) + 2 Heavy Silken Thread

Dream Dust -
T255 - Frostweave Robe (Drop) - 5 Bolts Mageweave (25) + 1 Rune Thread
L260 - Wicked Leather Gauntlets (Vendor) - 8 x Rugged Leather + 1 x Black Dye + 1 x Rune Thread
T265 - Runecloth Belt - 3 Bolts Runecloth (15) + 1 Rune Thread
T265 - Runecloth Gloves - 4 Bolts Runecloth (20) + 1 Rune Thread + 4 Rugged Leather
L265 - Wicked Leather Bracers (Drop) - 8 x Rugged Leather + 1 x Black Dye + 1 x Rune Thread

Good places to grind cloth (i.e. multi-drops of cloth from 1 of 3 kills or better) - I play horde so this is horde related:
Linen - Theramore Keep (South of Ratchet)
Wool - Dunholm Keep (Hillsbrad)
Silk - Roguefury Caves (Thousand Needles)
Silk - Scarlet Monastery (Trisfal Glades)
Mageweave - Feralas (Various Ogres)

—-

Overall, Enchanting can become a profitable and rewarding skill to have, however getting to skill 300 and some of the better enchants, will take considerable investment of cash, time and hair pulling.

One final piece is aimed at all of the buyers of enchants - please don't hassle if you feel that an enchant is overpriced. Check out a web site and see what actual ingredients are required for the enchant you're after. Every shard used is effectively a blue item that wasn't sold on the AH, and essence's come from green weapons. Some of the top level enchants require 4 shards and a whole host of other items. If necessary /whisper the enchanter and see what enchant they'd be prepared to do for the price you're willing to pay. Its not your right to have an enchant on an item, and selling enchants in a city requires the enchanter to take time out from doing other things - *we* can't just put our trade on the AH!

After much debate, character rerolling and tapdancing on the backs of hundreds of different types of mobs, I have decided upon the ULTIMATE soloable/PVE template! (...)

After much debate, character rerolling and tapdancing on the backs of hundreds of different types of mobs, I have decided upon the ULTIMATE soloable/PVE template!

I realize everyone has a varying opinion when it comes to these sorts of templates, however there were a few criteria I had in mind when creating this template.

1. Make excessive amounts of money.
2. Rarely, if ever, have to purchase ANYTHING from the Auction House other than weapons and armor.
3. A character which could provide his/herself excellent buffs without having to be a mage. This provides the benefit of superb armor, excellent damage and you don't have to relegate yourself to the mystical professions.

So, that all being said here's what I've come up with. I've put this to test up to level 30 with a Dwarven Hunter and it is BY FAR the best template I've come across yet.

Class:
Hunter (but can be ANY melee character)

Two Main Professions:
Alchemy
Herbalism

Sub-Professions:
Cooking
First Aid
Fishing

I've shown this to a few people, and oddly enough almost ALL of these professions (other than fishing) have proven to be highly unpopular. When I first created my character, I must admit I didn't realize the huge benefits of both cooking and first aid, and selected them both without realizing I couldn't drop them at a later time (they put me to 3 subprofessions)!

Now, let me break down each profession and how they allow you to become my idea of the "Ultimate Soloable Character".

Alchemy:

This profession, allows you to mix up some excellent potions which push all your attributes much higher than the norm, for periods between 30 minutes to 1 hour.

Buying instead of crafting your own potions is a never-ending money pit, and quite unnecessary.

Herbalism:

This is undoubtedly the most tedious, yet most rewarding, profession to level in the game. The grind can be quite tedious, IF you level this profession at very early levels. I recommend waiting to level 20 or so to even begin taking up the profession.

I first took alchemy around level 21 and simply ran around the areas where low level toons (level 5-15) roam. By running around the entire map in a circular fashion, I was able to level up my herbalism skill to 75 in just about an hour. After leveling up to journeyman Herbalist, I headed back out and hit 100 in another 30 minutes. Not bad at all. I highly recommend leveling herbalism in this fashion, as you don't have to worry about mobs in the area, as most of them will drop within 1-2 hits.

Also, obviously to be completely self sufficient in alchemy, you have to be an herbalist as well. Alchemy without herbalism is useless.

Cooking:

The first subprofession I have chosen is also a highly unpopular profession within wow. However, for those of you who aren't already cooks what if I were to tell you all those pieces of boar/bear meat you've been selling to NPCs could have given you some EXCELLENT buffs? Buffs you typically pay for?

Here's an example, since level 20 I've been creating "Curiously Tasty Omelettes". These omelettes require only a raptor egg and 1 bag of hot spices. The raptor eggs are available in abundance from just hunting in areas such as the Wetlands, and a bag of hot spices runs you 10 copper at your local cooking establishment.

Whenever you consume a food for more than 10 seconds that has been created by a chef, you get a buff called "well fed". This can result in any number of buffs to your character depending on the food eaten, but for instance the curiously tasty omelets grants me +6 spirit and +6 Stamina for 15 minutes. Considering you make these omelets in batches of 5 at a time, it's an excellent value. And as you progress through the game and begin picking up higher level drops from mobs the food and buffs only get better.

So DO NOT SELL those pieces of boar meat/bear meat/eggs etc you pick up just during your regular hunting grind. Use these instead to up your cooking skill and create foods which will grant you some great buffs.

First Aid:

All those pieces of wool/linen/silk you've been picking up AREN'T just for tailors and leatherworkers. Instead of selling these to the vendor, take up the First Aid profession instead.

Here's the aspect of first aid I absolutely love……you can heal YOURSELF quickly and efficiently purely from drops. There is no need to head back to the local auction house and begin bidding on healing potions. You can just create your own healing items out of common humanoid drops.

For instance, with a single wool cloth you can create a bandage which heals you for 167 damage. With 2 pieces of wool cloth you can create a bandage which heals you for 301 damage. It only gets better with silk, 1 piece of silk will give you a bandage which heals you for 400 damage!

Fishing:

Many of the foods you'll make as a chef require fish. Instead of shouting in town for specific food components, just go out and fish for them yourself. Not much to explain here, fishing is pretty self explantatory. But again, the idea of this template was to be TOTALLY self sufficent outside of armor and weapon purchases. Fishing/cooking allow this to happen. You really shoudn't have one without the other, as some of the fish-based dishes you'll make grant amazing buffs.

An analysis of my character prior/post my "self created" buffs:

So let's do a little analysis of my completely unbuffed level 30 hunter prior to taking ANY of my self created potions, or eating my tasty omelets.

Stats Prior to Potions/Food:

Strength: 67
Agility: 86
Stamina: 101
Intellect: 53
Spirit: 71
Armor: 938
Health: 1130

Potions I'll be Consuming:

Now, these are potions I take as a hunter at level 30, again I created these ALL myself just through the herbalism/al
chemy profession. Buying all of these at the auction house on a regular basis would cost you a FORTUNE. This way, you can do it for free………and while you are collecting the herbs yourself you're gaining XP for both your professions and overall leveling. A win/win situation!

Elixir of Ogre's Strength (sells for 40-75s on AH)
- Adds 8 Strength for 1 hour
Elixir of Greater Defense (Sells for 60s-1G on AH)
- Adds 250 Armor for 1 hour
Elixir of Agility (Sells for 50s-1G on AH)
- Adds 15 Agility for 1 hour
Elixir of Fortitude (Sells for 40s on AH)
- Increases Health by 120 for 1 hour

Food I'll be Eating:

Curiously Tasty Omelet (Stack of 20 Sells for 75s on AH)
- Grants +6 Stamina
- Grants +6 Spirit

Stats Post Potion/Food Consumption:

Strength: 75
- An increase of approximately 12%
Agility: 101
- An increase of approximately 17%
Stamina: 107
- An increase of approximately 5%
Intellect: 53
- No increase
Spirit: 77
- An increase of approximately 8%
Armor: 1218
- An increase of approximately 30%
Health: 1412
- An increase of approximately 25%

So across the board we have SIGNIFICANT gains in stats across the board. These stats result in MUCH more powerful attacks (both ranged and melee) equivalent to being 3-5 levels above your current level. And the best part about all of this? It's absolutely free with this template.

With just a single potion of each above, and 4 Omelets (to equal the one hour buffs of the other potions) you'd pay anywhere between 2 gold to 2.3 gold on the auction house. This is quite simply impossible to accomplish without unloading a TON of cash on these items alone, but you will obviously suffer greatly in the armor/weapon department.

With this template you will be a BEAST, and can regularly solo mobs 2-3 levels higher than you, however don't go any higher than this as the "miss" rate is far too high beyond this threshold (although with these buffs if it wasn't you could destroy mobs 5 levels higher).

Monetary Benefits:

The main money maker here is herbalism. Most high level players have a large amount of gold on them simply from drops. Existing high level Alchemists have become quite dependent on their high level potions, however aren't big fans of the grind of collecting herbs to make them.

Also, many times you simply have people out there who are re-rolling (or have purchased online currency) who are grinding alchemy purely by purchasing items at the AH. Take a look next time on your server and check out the prices of the following herbs:

Wild Steelbloom
Stranglekelp
goldthorn

All three of these herbs are EXTREMELY vital to many of the potions I listed above, so there's no surprise to learn that just 2-3 of each of these herbs can get you in excess of one gold a piece. Also, keep in mind in herbalism each time you harvest a single node of herbs you ALWAYS get 2-3 pieces of the herb at a time. So it's simple, harvest just ONE node of Wild Steelbloom and you're pretty much guaranteed 1 gold. And when you take into consideration you only need to have a level of 115 to harvest Wild Steelbloom, there aren't any MAJOR roadblocks to entering this highly untapped market.

I've made 20 gold on the AH in just the past 2 days of light playing, strictly selling steelbloom. With this money I've been able to purchase some excellent rare weapons and armor. In combination with my self-made mega buffs these weapons and armor make me even more powerful when soloing mobs. When grouping is a MUST (for certain elite quests) I've had folks 3-4 levels higher than me who comment how strong I am, mostly because the mobs they attempt to tank always seem to aggro me! How embarrasing for them! To feel gimped when partied with a guy 3 or 4 levels lower than them.

Final Thoughts:
Again, I realize templates are all about individual playing styles, but after much tinkering and playing in the world of wow I have found this template to be unparalleled in terms of near total self-sufficiency, while still allowing the character to make large sums of money in the open market.

Have fun, and please feel free to post your own templates or additions.

Okay first you need to be a tailor that can make white linen shirts. The get some linen cloth and make it into bolts of linen cloth. then buy supplies(coarse thread and bleach) which only cost 35 copper and make some shirts that sell for 75 copper. this is for fast small amounts of money. Make sure you dont buy the linen. Farming makes it easier(if their gray you can get more without leveling so you can catch up in money). This guide is easier for undeads because the scarlet crusade guys drop alot of linen. i made about 1g in about an hour of working. So enjoy joy this quick money.

While there's lots of strats out there for making gold, it's easy to overlook the obvious and simple. Rogue Pickpocketing is one of these often overlooked abilities that can make you more gold than you realize… often in very short amounts of time.

Taking 5/5 in Master of Deception is a good option anyway, but it definitely helps in thievery. Get Nightscape boots as well (craftable by most mid-upper level LW) as they add +1 bonus to stealth. 30+ mobs seem to carry an average of 2-3s each, plus mana and healing pots, as well as merchant fodder that sells for 1-2.5 silver each. At higher level mobs, you'll even snag the occassional gemstone, and virtually all mobs will often give a Junkbox or Lockbox, which is invaluable in increasing lockpicking skills.

Go to an area full of NPCs that have pickable pockets. These include, surprisingly enough, skellies, ghouls, and other undead, Furblogs and timbermaw, and virtually any humanoid attackable NPC. But here's a special little spot I've found where I make easily 5-10 gold in 20 minutes or less.

In BRD, after your group leaves, you can stay behind by yourself WITHOUT getting booted back to your hearth spot. THIS WORKS ONLY IF YOU SUCCESSFULLY DID THE ARENA, although you can try it with a higher probability of aggro otherwise. Go to the gallery that holds the spectators for the Arena (Ring of Law). They will not aggro you if you successfully defeated the challenge, and you can stealth and pickpocket the entire gallery (approximately 40 NPCs) with ease, with each npc holding between 3-4.5 silver. That alone is 1.2-1.7 gold, but I get 4-6 Superior healing pots, 4-5 Heavy Lockboxes, merchant trash (another 20-30s), AND a Star Ruby EVERY TIME.
